about amy

Amy Rosson is a contemporary artist based in Southern New Hampshire. Working primarily with acrylic paint and oil pastel, she creates intuitive, textural paintings that explore emotion, transformation, nature, and the beauty of becoming.

Amy’s work begins without a fixed destination. She builds each painting through layers of color, energetic marks, organic forms, and moments of both intention and surrender. Earlier decisions may be covered, softened, uncovered, or transformed as the piece evolves. Rather than forcing a painting toward a predetermined outcome, she allows it to reveal its own direction.

At the heart of her practice is an ongoing exploration of fear and intuition—and the challenge of learning to tell the difference between them. Painting has become a way for Amy to move through emotion, quiet outside expectations, and listen more closely to what feels true. Her work often exists between movement and stillness, fantasy and earth, freedom and belonging.

Inspired by the natural world, memory, and the emotional landscapes we carry within us, Amy creates work that feels both familiar and open-ended. Suggestions of flowers, trees, horizons, and imagined places emerge through abstraction without becoming entirely defined. She intentionally leaves space for viewers to bring their own memories and interpretations to each piece.

Amy’s path as an artist has been shaped by motherhood, change, and the decision to build a life that makes room for creativity. Following an unexpected career transition in 2026, she committed more fully to her studio practice and to sharing her work with others. What began as a deeply personal way of processing and grounding herself has grown into a body of work centered on trust, possibility, and becoming.

Her story and creative practice were featured in the August “MOVE” issue of The Intentional Muse, where she shared her experience of navigating change and moving toward a life led more intentionally through art.

Through every painting, Amy hopes to create an invitation: to slow down, feel deeply, trust what is unfolding, and recognize beauty within the unfinished parts of ourselves.

Amy lives and works in Southern New Hampshire, where she continues to create original paintings and commissioned works for private collectors. Her work is available for collection, exhibition, and select collaborations.
